Applying as a teacher at library

I understand that as a homeschooling parent you can get the priviledges as a school teacher at the Columbus libraries. Does anyone know how to do that and what the extra priviledges are? I think one of the benefits might be that you pay less in late fees.

Thanks!

Evidentally, one of our friends has done this. But she hasn’t responded with how she did it.

I tried just asking at the Dublin branch how to get a teacher’s card. She started right into taking my application information. But when she asked for the name of the school I didn’t have an answer because we haven’t thought of a name for our school yet. Even if I did have a name roll off my tongue, I’m not sure she would have taken it. She may have been selecting from a list of Columbus area public school names on the computer for all I know. She said that homeschool teachers are not eligible for teacher cards. I don’t know if that is an official city-wide policy or if it varies by branch.

If anyone has better information, please post it here for everyone’s benefit.

Late but here goes:
Upper Arlington Library (which is not part of the Columbus Metro Library network) will allow you to apply for a teacher card. It happens to be my favorite library resource. The teacher card allows for no fines, if you abuse it though you will have the same consequences (paying for lost/unreturned books). I only needed to show them my response letter from the home school notification process.

I try not to abuse the wonderful privilege (by renewing when I know I am keeping the books for extra time and the like) so they will continue the program.
