Homeschool Program: From Sheep to Sweater Wed., April 7 or Thurs., April 8, 10:30a.m.-3p.m. In this program for children 8 and older, students will get a thorough understanding of what it takes to create clothing and other fiber products. We’ll begin the day in the barn with the sheep shearer, watching the masterful skill of shearing. Then, coming inside, we’ll sort and wash a fleece, fresh off a sheep’s back. Participants will make a simple CD spindle and will learn how to spin yarn and create felt. The children will leave with some wool, their own spindle, and some felting needles. $25. Limit 15 per class.
